Many people use baking soda as a natural treatment for their skin. Baking soda can provide many skin softening benefits when poured into a bathtub full of warm water.

It can be made into skin scrubs and used on the face or body. It can also be used to make a baking soda lotion recipe that softens the skin.

Here is a simple way to make a baking soda lotion recipe with a few ingredients from around the home, plus beeswax.

Baking Soda Lotion Recipe

Gather together the following ingredients and carefully measure them out.

• 2 ml baking soda
• 5 cup water
• 10 ml olive oil – unrefined is best
• 15 tbsp beeswax
• 1 small saucepan and 1 double boiler
• Measuring cups
• Stainless steel spoon
• Small jar with lid – recycle one from the bin

Easy to Follow Method

Follow these simple steps to make your special baking soda lotion recipe.

Begin by dissolving the baking soda in the water, in a saucepan. Set it aside for a minute while you get started on the other pan.

Mix your olive oil and the beeswax together in the double boiler. Be careful to not scorch the wax, otherwise you’ll need to start over.

Keep on stirring the concoction until the wax has completely melted.

Keep the pan on low heat and stir occasionally.

Return to your first saucepan and heat it over low heat on a second burner. Remember to stay on low heat.

Heat it to the same temperature as the wax mixture. Use a food thermometer if you must – aim for 40 degrees Celsius.

Now add your baking soda mixture to the wax mixture. Keep on stirring.

When the mixture has completely combined, you can remove it from the heat. Ensure that there are no clumps of baking soda.

Allow your lotion to cool completely. You may wish to stir it on a regular basis to keep the oil and the water from separating.

Once your lotion has cooled down fully, spoon it into your clean container. Screw on a tight-fitting lid and you’re ready to use.

Variants to Make a Baking Soda Lotion Recipe

You may wish to add a few drops of essential oil to your lotion. Consider what types of benefits your skin needs.

For instance, if you need a soothing skin blend, peppermint oil can be beneficial. If you suffer Candida, you can add grapefruit oil. If you want a soothing cream for back massage, add in lavender oil. If you want a luscious lotion that provides fragrance to your body, add in rose absolute essential oil.

With only a few natural ingredients, you can make a cheap but effective baking soda lotion recipe for your face and entire body.

This affordable lotion will help to soften your skin, while preventing bacteria and fungal growths taking hold, which can lead to bad rashes.

After a few days of baking soda lotion treatments you should begin noticing how soft and smooth your skin feels.
